Recently a friend who I respect commented that people didn't get fat by eating too much and exercising too little.  I put a pin in that discussion and I'm ready to come back to it now.

An unusual series of events resulted in me having to stop at McDonald's yesterday.  I don't eat there very often, but when I do I tend to savor the experience, as if I were a Time Lord visiting America during the American Century.  CAFO beef before people realized how horribly unethical it is!  Corn masquerading as food of every ilk!  Toasted ( Read more... )

I had a really weird conversation in the weight room today.

My weight is up 30 pounds from the low I had when I was doing triathlons.  The car accident in June 2008 that hurt my neck put an end to my running, and in the intervening two years I've just drifted up and up.  The bout with Depression (with a capital D) no doubt exacerbated it.  Closing ( Read more... )

We got a call from Small Boy's school yesterday. I was with a client and Eldest Son took the call and later gave me the message. I've been reprimanded for sending too little food in Small Boy's lunch.
